4 Bio Ways in which to use Lavender at Home

You should always have lavender at home, or in natural form, or if it is transformed into essential oil, but you know why? For its floral aroma of course, but also because its anti fungal and antibacterial properties. Here’s five ways in which you can use lavender at home:
  1. Laundry detergent
If you want to be more economic, make your own laundry softener, as described here, out of:
–           8-10 drops of lavender essential oil
–           3/4 cup of vinegar
Put the vinegar together with the lavender essential oil in the softener compartment. You will enjoy clean clothes that smell like a sweet holiday.
  1. Furniture cleaner
I often wondered with what I could replace the eternal Pronto, so I can clean my furniture, but also protect the environment (yes, I really am a convinced environmentalist). This solution is great for those who have pets and / or kids:
–           2 tablespoons of lemon juice
–           1/2 teaspoon of olive oil
–           a drop of lavender essential oil.
Mix the above ingredients and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. This liquid can be used for wiping the furniture. Be careful! Test a small, hidden area first, to verify that the solution doesn’t affect the texture and the color
  1. Bio room freshener
In the same idea, protecting the environment, but also saving money, mix:
–           a cup of water
–           a few drops of lavender essential oil.
You can use this mixture using a spray to refresh the air in your home or even to sprinkle on the new bags of the vacuum cleaner.
  1. Sheet spray
You haven’t heard of this until now? The spray that we recommend you improves sleep quality, freshens your skin and refreshes your sheets, all that because lavender has anti fungal and antibacterial properties.
Mix:
–           90 ml vodka,
–           30 drops of lavender essential oil
–           ½ cup of distilled water.
With this solution before going to bed, spray your sheets for a deep and quiet sleep.
Pregnant or nursing women should avoid lavender, although many midwives recommended it during labor.
The essential oil should not be ingested, although it can be applied on the skin in small quantities to calm slight burns.
